The disposable water bottles we are buying by the millions every year are filling our land fills. They are not all recyclable , made of cheap , thin and leaching plastic which is magnified if water is left in them for long periods of time or left in a vehicle to get hot or exposed to changing temperatures. Bacteria starts to grow and contaminate sitting water. Bottled water is very expensive, making large companies like Nestle and Coca Cola very rich while you are not benefitting at all.

Most times bottled water is nothing more than water from a hole in the ground or tap water itself. You are paying to have your tap water bottled in unsafe plastic one time use bottles. This doesn't sound like a great, healthy deal to me.
Water should be not be fortified with anything; it should be pure and simply, just water. Water is to hydrate your body. It is a better idea to get your vitamins and nutrition from eating a well rounded healthy diet. Drink water at room temperature or a bit cooler but not too cold to be best for your body. Put your water in a glass glass, mug or reusable solid stainless steel water bottle to drink.
Have your house water tested regularly (2 to 4 times a year) by your local Health Unit to reasssure that your tap water is safe for your family to drink. This service is free of charge. They can check for bacteria, nitrates, lead, chlorine, E. coli and many other contaminents or impurities that could possibly be in your water.
Babies under the age of one year old and pregnant women should not drink any water that has nitrates in it as it can interfere with the oxygen-carrying capacity of the childs blood and high levels could even cause death. It is important for babies over three months old to drink water and keep well hydrated but it has to be the right water to ensure their safety. It should be flouride free carbon filtered tap water or from a reverse osmosis system.
Bottled water is very high in salt content also. There is an immense corralation of people drinking solely bottled water and heart attacks. Just when you think you are doing something good for yourself because the media and marketing tecniques says it is good for you, the truth is that you are actaully harming your body.
If you still choose to drink bottled water, it is a good idea to purchase a water cooler for your home. Reverse osmosis water or pH Neutralization water systems are good choices.
This doesn't mean you should start drinking coffee, pop, sugary juices or artificial fruit drinks. We just have to get back to the basics and drink good old natural water to hydrate ourselves.
